Here is a brief instruction set to how you can transfer all of your personal settings from Vazaelle to Maelin:
Hotkeys, Friends List, User Interface, Bazaar Prices
1. In your windows explorer, browse to: c:\program files\everquest
2. Copy all of your .ini files to a new folder and call it Backup Ini Files
3. In c:\program files\everquest rename every ini file that has "_vazaelle" in it to instead say "_maelin"
Phinneas_vazaelle.ini becomes Phinneas_maelin.ini (friends list and hotkeys)
UI_Phinneas_vazaelle.ini becomes UI_Phinneas_maelin.ini (user interface)
BZR_Phinneas_vazaelle.ini becomes BZR_Phinneas_maelin.ini (bazaar pricings)
Optional Files (Barter prices, NPC texts, Personal Guild Notes)
4. In c:\program files\everquest\userdata rename every ini file that has "_vazaelle" in it to instead say "_maelin" (you may want to back these up into a new folder called Vazaelle Userdata before making changes).
BART_Phinneas_vazaelle.ini becomes BART_Phinneas_maelin.ini (Barter Pricings)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle.hdr becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin.hdr (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle.txt becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin.txt (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle1.hdr becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin1.hdr (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle1.txt becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin1.txt (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle2.hdr becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin2.hdr (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle2.txt becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin2.txt (NPC messages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle3.hdr becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin3.hdr (NPC mssages)
CJ_Phinneas_vazaelle3.txt becomes CJ_Phinneas_maelin3.txt (NPC mssages)
GN_Phinneas_vazaelle.txt becomes GN_Phinneas_maelin.txt (Personal Guild Notes)
*** Please note: If you logged onto Maelin on any of your existing characters before making these changes, you will need to delete or rename the newly created files before you can rename your old ones. I suggest renaming them to .old instead of .ini unless you have a good backup of your ini files before hand.
P.S. If you can't see your file extensions, you can by changing the following setting in Windows XP via Windows Explorer: Tools -> Folder Options -> View (tab) then scroll down to the option "Hide extensions for known file types" and UNCHECK it, then click the "Apply to All Folders" button to make this change for all your folders (optional).
P.P.S. If you can't see any files of the aboved names (with or without file extensions) then you may have them hidden .... so in Windows XP via Windows Explorer: Tools -> Folder Options -> View (tab) then ensure that the Show Hidden Files and Folders option is selected. _________________ Phinneas ~ Lord Protector ~ The Walkers of Vazaelle ~ My Magelo
