EQ's next expansion has a website. Check it out. Any thoughts?

Looks interesting... but I'm confused...

On one of their description pages, they use the exact same descriptions for a few of the features as were given for GoD. It makes me think they're puting GoD content in this expansion as well, trying to sell it again. If that's the case, and it's not a mess up on the web site, then I'm pretty upset about it. We already paid for GoD, don't make us pay again for the same zones and content.

But... on another page, they make it sound like the new content is indeed different. I don't know what they're doing there.

NEW EPICS!!! WOOT!!! Most of the epics are downright silly, not worth the time and energy to get them. Hopefully these new ones will really be an upgrade and worth it. Honestly right now the only epic I really see as a benefit in getting it is the Cleric Epic, and possibly the Beastlord epic since I see a lot of Beasties actually weilding them. I think right now most people do their epics simply because they see it as a natural progression for their character, not so much because it's a good weapon.

Increased level cap... BLARG... just when I thought I was done with the regular xp grind, and happily working on AA.

My only real question is what difficulty is this content?

GoD is WAY too hard to do much but alienate all the lower level players in the game and many of the level 65 ones as well.

I hope the content is geared more towards the average player this time.

I think this will be it for me. With only a few hours a day (at most!) to play I have managed to grind up with Isle and Gia to 65 and grind a bit on AAs...I just can't do it over again and grind out 5, 10, etc. more levels. I think it may be time to 'hang up my hat' once this expansion comes out, and that makes me more than a bit sad Sad

I know there are a lot of folks out there that are probably very excited about new epics (nice), levels, etc., and I hope you have loads of fun and more fond memories. I just can't do it again.

Islena I really dont think you will have to hang it up. There is lots of content for you and any lvl 60-65 to do. They are revisising GOD to make it more player friendly and it is about time. The elementals and GOD await Walkers and YOU. Dont hang it up hang in there and enjoy all the content we still have to enjoy.

/sigh i spent the first month and half looking for GoD trial groups, and still never made it anywhere.

Although being the only person standing in the group was comforting for a change.

I think this will be a GoD for all levels type expansion

My fear is that as the equipment levels of the general population increases, more people get elemental and time access, etc that there will be less content that will be reasonably doable by casual players. Any content they add that a normal casual player can handle would be trivial for the higher end players.

I fear the epic quests will be next to impossible to do, similar to trying to obtain many of the new spells and features of GoD. And there will probably be huge lines of people camping new epic mobs leaving yet another set of frustrations competing for mobs. Unless they design it so that that won't happen. But I don't count on it.

My reaction was exactly the same as Isla's. I start to wonder if this is my time to hang up my hat and leave EQ. We'll see.

Honestly, I agree with the sentiment on Graffe's -- this is the second half of GoD that should have been included at the start. And raising the level cap is stupid. You can't just keep doing that indefinitely, but damn the torpedoes, they're doing it anyway.

I don't think I'm going to buy this exp right away. I'm having to much fun in City of Heroes. EQ has always been about what can we do to time sink the player. To meny cock blocks like flags and 1 freaking mob that every guild needs to move on in this game. Plus the fact that some mobs don't even drop your item so it became a camping race fight fest. SOE knows they have people locked into this game. Playing EQ 4 or 5 years it is tough to just walk away from that and SOE knows it. GoD was the expansion that really put a split between the hardcore and the regular player. PoP was the start of it but GoD is such a waste of my time. I been on 4 sewer runs and lost them all. Then I have been to a few GoD zones when it first came out but never really went back. I can't see were a new expansion for me is going to help when I don't even use the last expansion.

I say go get City of Heroes and have some fun. It does not have all the BS cock blocks that EQ has.
