Someone was asking in guild chat if you needed your current epic to get epic 2.0. Here's what I found on the EQ forums.

Not unexpected, but it would be nice if having your current epic would let you skip a portion of the new quest. _________________

At the very least, having Epic 1 should give you a leg up on the quest, bypassing the first 14 or 1/3 or something. That I think would be the fairest way to handle it.

You reading our minds? Hehe Having your first epic will make the second epic quest a little shorter but is not a requirement.
