Not my type server but sounds nice for the powergamers, I probaly give it a try just for the hell of it although I am not really into PvP.

This is all the wishes of many different groups being lumped into one server.

Ther are lots of people who haven't played in a long time whining that the game was better pre-kunark and want a pre-kunark only server.

Then there are a bunch of mud vets claiming PvP isn't hardcore enough because there's no permadeath or good loot rules.

Then there are the current PvPers who contend expansions have progressively made PvP less fun because it gives people more places to "hide." I don't understand why people get on a PvP server then try to avoid it, but it seems common.

If this were just a pre-kunark server, I'd definately have a character on it. I started the game pre-kunark but never got a feel for what the mid and high end of the game were like at that point. I'd like to step into the past just to see. It would be nice seeing the old world populated again as well.

I'm not a fan of PvP though, so I think i'll give this a pass.

Shocked
Smile
Very Happy
Twisted Evil
ITS ABOUT FRAKEN time !!!
I have been praying to play on a permadeath server for a LONG tme. I was so stoked when ShadowLag (shadowbane) came out at first and was talking about permadeath servers. It adds a level of excitment to the game that is very intense.

I think it's a cool idea, i have also thought alot about something of the sort from way back pre-velious. I doubt i would start a char on the server but it's a cool idea for hardcore pvp people and makes the game more fun without Luclin/PoP

So does the cleric get a new epic, or a replacement spell for Resurection? These will have no use at all on this type of server. Who wants to rez a level 1 newbie back into your group?

I think this is doomed. Sure, the exp bonus is nice, but still. Even the most dedicated healer can't keep everyone alive all the times. Think of the training that will occur. If a group knows that it's in over its head, straight to the zone if possible. It's a horrible idea I think. Course that's just my view on this.

Crying or Very sad
ok played yesterday.....
OUCH!! Shocked
got to lvl 4 as my gnome cleric. im killing a rogue clockwork spider and guess i got to close to the path of the big clockwork spider... thwack! dead... Embarassed
this happens a couple more times. cause lets face it lvl 1-10 is dangerous

no biggie, so i lose all my spells ect... hmmmmm that hurt Razz

start over, get to lvl 8!!! woot im a big kid now Very Happy im hunting by the mill taking on blues and being cautious.... /ooc "TRAIN to the mill" try to run, oh wait theres his train... THWACK... Evil or Very Mad

hmmmm im lvl 1 again lost all my spell i just earned AGAIN....

/camp desktop

logs back into Vaz Rolling Eyes Laughing

there needs to be immunity for the lvl 1-9's this is a brutal part of EQ even a twink dies at these levels, that is just the way the zones are designed. Think of how many "newbie areas" are design for lvl 1-5, and how many lvl 3's can take on a red lvl-5 with TRUE newb gear...
on the plus side I REALY want to lvl on this server and make a tradeskiller when it goes live! Ill make my 1mill plat then transfer to Vaz lol Wink the concept is FUN and i still like the idea but man is it frustrating getting to lvl 10 LOL. but think of the respect a lvl 30 warrior would have. I hope it takes off and does well. I would like to see a game like shadowbane with this concept, PVP with purpose combined with real hardcore consquences for dying would make greifers think twice.

If anyone wants to play here for fun let me know

Bah the warrior, it's his cleric buddy =)
But really, I can't see anyone ever getting to 30. Too many variables that don't depend on skill. Trains, LDs, bugs (they said no rez for ANY reason). Then add the PvP to it and you're toast.
I would love to see a bunch of very proud level 50s, if there ever were some, wipe on a Naggy raid though. Hehehe
