However, there is no BBCode for "font face." My original answer was going to be to try making the signature in HTML, but I tried that myself only to find out that for some reason you can't change the "font face" at all, no matter what. So, I guess if you want to change the "font face" in your signature you'll have to use an image. I will keep working on this and get back to you when I have either fixed it, or found out why you can't do it.

In the Admin Panel:
General Admin > Configuration

Go to "Allowed HTML tags."

You want to enter these codes:

b,i,u,pre,center,td,tr,table,img,a,br,font

By making sure "font" is included, people can now use font face. If you're wondering about "a" -- that is short for "a href." Discovered the hard way that you only need to enter in codes for the first word in a command. Hence just "a" and just "font."

I'm two steps ahead of you, Pedi.

I had to enable all of those HTML tags in my configuration back when I first started importing ezBoard topics, because they import directly as HTML and wouldn't display correctly without them. It doesn't matter if you input the entire tag or not, it only parses the code to the first break character and then skips to the comma, so if you were to put in "a,i,b,font color, font face, font size" it would read that as "a,i,b,font, font, font."

The problem is, that even if you have "font" enabled, you can use every conceivable variation of it except for "font face." Try it out, and you'll see what I mean.
Code:
Shiloch
<font size="6">Shiloch</font>
<font color="#FF00FF">Shiloch</font>
<b>Shiloch</b>
<i>Shiloch</i>
<u>Shiloch</u>
<font face="Arial">Shiloch</font>

Reads as:
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch

The last line of that shoud look like this font:

I will keep looking. It works just fine for me on the norrath studio php board. If I don't see anything obvious in the controls, I will assume it's in the CSS or TPL files.

OK, how about this?

Override user style
Replaces users style with the default

I know you have the board set to override user style. I am wondering if this includes font styles by forcing people to stick with the fonts the style came with. Turn it off, make a test post, and let me know what you find out.

Just to make sure I'm not going insane, I'll test it again.
Code:
<font face="Times New Roman">Shiloch</font>
<font face="MS Sans Serif">Shiloch</font>
<font face="Comic Sans MS">Shiloch</font>
<font face="Arial">Shiloch</font>
<font face="Verdana">Shiloch</font>

Outputs here as:

Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch
Shiloch

Outputs to my web browser as:

Nope. That setting only effects the ability for users to select from the installed templates to view the message board with, which I have disabled.

I did temporarily enable it, and even change the default back to subSilver (the template phpBB is packaged with), and refreshed my post both times and it didn't fix it.

I'll start pouring through the style sheet on Monday, because I've searched the developer forums over and over again and not been able to find anything about the "font face" issue.

Yes, that was one of many "stupidity-hating" ideas I thought about using as avatars, but weren't the right size.

This is the one I really wanted to use:

And dammit, Pedi, stop derailing my thread. Razz

Y'know, Shi, if you really want to start encouraging people to post here instead of the EZboard, you should make all the forums "invisible" so that only general and private are still visible and accessable (in case people have trouble setting up here). It will force them to come over here instead.

Well, since you and I Pedi seem to be having too much fun at this hour, I'm going to play with the split tool since I've never done it before, and split off these posts.

Back to our font face problem, I'd be willing to bet money that font face doesn't work on Norrath's Studio, either.

This thread on the phpBB support forums shows many different people having the problem with 2.0.2, 2.0.4, AND 2.0.5 with the subSilver template.

It does, however, show a mod someone is working on to support it with BBCodes, and the dev team is looking into it.

Well, if I wanted to do that, I'd just lock them down, because to make them invisible, you have to remove the people you don't want to see it from the access control list.

Fortunately, I'm too tired with researching my problems here to worry about ezBoard at the moment, and frankly, it doesn't matter to me if people keep posting there. At some point, I will make ALL of those forums read-only and you'll have to come here. The discrepancies won't mean anything to me, suit yourself if you'd rather stay on ezBoard.

Is it just me, or are the time stamps on our messages waaay off? The date is right, but just read Shi's last message is 10AM or something, and I know it's 3:26am currently.

Pavel, you can change the timestamp in your profile. The board itsef runs in GMT, and the individual user can put in the offset to the GMT clock to the appropriate time zone.
