Does anyone know how to get EQ to run trough a proxy server? I'd love to be able to play here, but cant do it until I figure this out. Thanks

Exacyly, I dont want them to be able to block/monitor it, so I send all traffic through a proxy server (the one I'm using atm happens to be some bank in Ireland's server), that way all they see is traffic going to this one address, and it's then re-routed to where it needs to go from there. We've set it up now so we can go to any website, run Kazaa and winmx, and even play the Gamecube over the net, we just cant find any way to get EQ to route through this server... hmm, gotta keep looking I guess.

If your net admin is good then you can't.
I installed a modem and I dial up to play from the office. This way they can't monitor what goes across the net.
If you can't connect to EQ from your office through your proxy i wouldn't suggest you try since they probably monitor traffic, and you wouldn't want to get fired now would ya?

other tech solution, more complex, but which work in any setup; you need a linux/bsd box outside. Tunnel ssh withing HTTPto it, and do PPP inside
that work all time. Fieni Fired - vazaelle (Doll made by Pedi, base by Josie's Dollmaker) |
