Networking 101

For those bored souls that like to help....

I just got DSL (external modem with an ethernet connection) and wanted to network my laptop and desktop using the Linksys BESFR-41 Router I used with my cable connection in Atlanta.

My laptop is running ME (yuk!) and the desktop is running XP. I use TDS DSL btw.

Here is the problem:

If I plug the DSL cable into the WAN Port, the laptop can surf the web. If I plug the DSL cable into the Uplink Port, my desktop can surf. All the right lights ont he router are lit up btw. WTF!!

I cannot seem to get both running at the same time for some reason! Grrrrr... Any Ideas??

Bah - I fixed it. I had to delete all connection software to the DSL for it to work. /shrug...

Nonono... you have to dance in top of the DSL router, while sacrifying a roaster alive on top of the DSL modem and you MUST post the pictures!

And don't forget to strip - you have to do this naked in the moon light, but with enough light for the camera.

Not to mention it has to be on the 5th Tuesday night of the month, with a time window of 11:17 pm to 11:20 pm PST. And it has to be a harvest moon.
