I started doing this a little while ago, it's a fun diversion while you don't have access to much else but the 'net.
It's called Everwars, a persistant online text-based mmorpg that's free to play. You can choose a kingdom (clicking the link will put you in mine by default) or create your own.. Not much, but a lot of fun anyway.
