How do I become a beta tester?
Information regarding the EverQuest II beta test will be made available on the official website. However, it is important to note that many of our EverQuest Legends subscribers will be the first to experience EverQuest II in its beta sometime this year. We will be giving preference to longtime EverQuest Legends subscribers, so if you're interested in EverQuest Legends, sign up now. After EverQuest Legends players, longtime EverQuest subscribers will be eligible for a phase of the beta as well. We realize this information is somewhat vague, and the only reason for that is that we don't have an exact date yet for beta testing, but we will in the future.
There is so much wrong with this that I don't know where to begin. First, it assumes that the best players are on Legends /boggle. Secondly, why would you want all beta testers to be the best players? Wouldn't you want a perspective from a relative newbie too? Finally, any time you pick the "longest Everquest subscribers" or "Long Legends subscribers" ..you're probably pulling the most HARD CORE of gamers.... Is this really the ENTIRE beta testing team you want on your game?
Oh yea...new EQ2 website is up everquest2.station.sony.com/

Yeah, it's all about the money. They want to reward people for being loyal and keeping the money in their pockets after all this time.
Besides, in addition to this, beta testing is generally small and friends/family members of people in the company tend to get dibs in addition to the press. The rest is filled with the average gamers. They want people who know what to look for in terms of gameplay instead of going, "Huh? What are tradeskills?" _________________
