Slowing, buffing and healing must be a nice change of pace from porting people around, Whiz _________________ RETIRED 65 Lizard Enchanter |

and the pause changes as you go from Canni I through IV as the damn spell takes longer to cast. I think mine is currently set at 25 - not sure though _________________ Is it paranoia when they really ARE out to get you? |

The pause = casting time + a few extra to compensate for lag or whatever.
Generally, if the casting time is 1.2 seconds, I'll set the pause for 15. Canni IV is closer to a 30 or 35 pause I think. _________________

All this sitting... I have never used sit in my canni hotkey. Too much trouble IMO and I pull to much agro to sit even for a fraction of a second usually. No need to make tanks job harder.
I too melee at lvl 63. |

I have the Canni hotkey including the /sit command at the end, and a direct hotkey to the spell gem slot Canni always sits in. (# 6 and #9, respectively.) That way if I know I'll draw sit-aggro, I Canni normally once or twice, then hit the macro-style hotkey once, and it sits me down when its done. Very lazy way of doing it I guess. _________________

Stuk is caught in the same routine also
I buff b4 going in and then its the haste, slow, cripple, regen and canni.
I do pull in pet, and will root mobs. At 54 I have some nukes to play with if mana allows.
From my experience you are doing everything right. I figure I'm there to buff and debuff with a few extra duties depending on the group. If I'm tanking at all I'm generally 00m and peaved that the others haven't dropped the mob or dealing with a bad pull.

I only tank if I am at 80%mana, I act like a proper hybrid and nuke in between swings - maybe because I grew up as a ranger /shrug _________________ Is it paranoia when they really ARE out to get you? |

i miss my shaman...
anyway, the #1 most important thing that you can do as a shaman is learn to pull away adds with a slow, than root it. also, be sure to keep your casters alive and let the cleric focus on the tanks.. sometimes i would group with a cleric and they would heal me when i was canning- be sure to put a stop to that real fast. i always found the cripple line of spells to be basically worthless, along with our nukes so if i had extra mana i would send a tell to the cleric and let him know that i would cover healing for a bit while he medded. its all about teamwork. |

I'm sure you've gotten enough information on this topic. But speaking from experience with my 62nd shaman. I buff, haste, slow, canni, torpor and usually am backup healer. If enough mana I DoT but don't waste mana on DDs since my best one does 675 dmg. At lower levels you will do roughly the same thing of buffing, hasting and slowing. I wouldn't recommend being the main healer once you hit 30s though you can. You'll find if you are main healer you'll not have enough mana, usually, to slow.
As far as soloing once you get your pet I usually pull with slow, send pet in, then DoT. |
