Thats what I did on my notebook, I installed all the way through PoP then ran the patcher and it was fine, but an hour for DX 9 sounds not right.

Windows update (that automatic crap) is the way to go. Make sure to REBOOT after the patches even if the patch didn't ask for a reboot.
One hour download is way too long.
Make sure your anti-virus isn't checking it as it comes across. |
