How do you feel about inspections?

When I'm in the EC tunnel, I welcome it....same with WC ring, other places, all depends on whether I know the person or not...

My past experience was 2 years on Rallos Zek, pvp server, however....there, if someone ANYONE inspected you without asking, 90% of the time you were about to get attacked, and they were seeing whether you were worth wasting the mana on....You never seen how fast after getting the "You have been inspected by Ebay Farmer" message I could strip to my skivvies!

As a warrior i get inspected frequently by other melee classes comparing weapons and such. That i dont mind and it makes me feel kinda good about the stuff i have.. however.. on a few occassions i have been inspected and then harrased for donations of weapons/plat whatever. Therefore if i dont know you and your not in my guild when someone inspects me without asking they normaly receive the /eye.

Imagine being the guildleader of a 150 person guild, and then having to deal with these tells from three senconds of logging in:

Twink guildee tell you: "I was going through the EC tunnel and Demonic and Psychoboy blinded me and took my fungi tunic...dood you gotta get it back!"

PostHellLevel guildee tells you:"Druidfromhell snared me trying to pk me while I was kiting an Enraged Deathmachine, and I lost a whole level cause they guy could finish the job"

OutragedAlly tells you "Your new guildmate just blind ganked my guildmate at the portal.....I want a public apology made and your people to kill him"

LeaderofRandomPKguild tells you "One of your people healed someone I was PKing....since I know you could care less if you are pkd cause you wear all no drop, I am going to hunt down your wife Emaus (Camille) and take everything you ever gave her"

Emaus tells you "Hello?? Did you get my last three tells?"

In the mean time, I was just pkd cause I could not watch what was going on around me, for answering all the tells.

I almost lost my mind there.

I went to Rallos cause I was new to the game, and thought that dark elves and trolls and ogres against the good races would be wild....instead, I find that the most evil classes in the game were really halfling druids and gnome wizards, becuase they had the spells and mana to kill anyone they wanted to, and did so with no sense of roleplay to sell your items on ebay

Rallos was like the penal colony of Verant......half the server was full of people with serious people issues and had an ability to "kill someone" whenever they wanted to, or kids/teens who saw the game as nothing more than pacman with ghosts who talked rather than people with time invested and feelings behind their characters.

On rallos, verbal rape was not only possible, but physical.

It was a horrible place, but I grew up there, invested too much time into Riverdane my warrior and Sylverdane my mage, and in creating a guild similiar to Razor, which was a GEM in the pile of refuse on Rallos, found it harder and harder to leave all that behind, till on my birthday of 2001, I finally lost my mind while just looking for ten minutes peace with Camille as she gave me my birthday gift online and she was almost PKd.

Riverdane, here on Vazaelle, shares my real life birthday, for that day, I said, god, if I could do it all over again, on a server so young Patchwork is considered being twinked, would it still be worth it?

I took myself, Camille, and the officers from Rallos that would follow me and created Exodus Zek..."Leaving Rallos Zek"

Exodus Zek still has many of my old officers from Hand of Dane on Rallos, And Viqqtor from Razor is one of my officers from Rallos as well, as is Drokka, Surething, of course Camille.

It's hard, Leopa, I am a creator, so the creation of a persona and a guild was extremely hard to leave....but I detested what Rallos had become. Here, they steal your camp. There they stole your goodwill toward men.

Since then, most of the freaks ran to Sullon Zek, thank god....but I can never return to Rallos, leaving behind a 52 mage I can never transfer to a blue, and Camille a 54 wizzie she and I absolutely adored.

But we look at ourselves now, after the rough adjustment at the beginning, seeing the myriad of friends, the wonderful loot we can finally WEAR as a reward for our hours, the guild we have created, and the Alliance we fostered, and we just blink in wonder...

Here I found peace.

So it's like being a bluebie guild leader, but squared.

That was actually what I always suspected PVP servers to be like. I know a lot of PVP players who say true roleplay is only POSSIBLE in a PVP environment, but they never had a good answer for my follow-up question: "Do the roleplayers ever get a chance to roleplay then, or are they just running around, worrying about getting ganked?"

If it was available when I started, I would have played on FV server, but I've got a lot invested in this server, and I've got no real interest in leaving friends and guilds to go for what I think is a better ruleset.

And gnome wizards still own you.

I do appreciate it when they ask, though, I always ask before I inspect, unless they inspect me first
