Hello! Wow, finally set up in-country. My unit is set up inside Sadaam's 'airport' palace. This place is HUGE! Some really nice buildings here... some really destroyed buildings too =p The area is fairly secure now, only small arms fire going, but its mostly outside the gate. The Iraqi citizens all seem really happy to have us here. Whenever we drive anywhere there are literally hundreds of children lining the streets and giving us thumbs up or peace signs... Its so sad to see what poverty they lived in, then come to this ostentacious display tha was Sadaam's palace... this a smaller one that he stayed in before he went to the airport.
Anyway, being commo has its privledges, one being almost constant 'net access (as long as we dont screw our job up). So I thought I'd drop in and see whats up, I'll probably be lurking around a lot, as my shift is from 0100 to 0900 with not much to do but browse the net.. I'm still working on setting up a proxy server so I can get around thier firewall and play EQ > . I'd love to hear from any of you at tthompson_1@excite.com, or just post here =) Take care guys
