Hey there everyone.
(Disclaimer: I write long posts. Razz )

Wanted to post up here an official type desire to join you all in Walkers. I'm a level 70 Rogue. You can look me up on eqplayers.com if you are curious about the specifics. I'm not anywhere near well-equiped or flagged.

Edit to add: My typical playtimes are, Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Wed. Anything other than those days is just extra time. On those days, it's really anytime, but typically it's the "night time" hours. I'm just outside of Chicago, but I work nights and pretty much keep that schedule.

While I haven't been around you all enough on various hits or groups to know everything, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on how things are run and the type of people that makeup Walkers.

With that said, you have a VERY good group of people within the guild. I haven't seen a single occurance that I could call questionable or anything of that nature. Everyone works well together, stays to help without question and overall seems to simply enjoy each other.

That's a very good quality in a guild for this environment and hopefully I can make the cut.

Gildawen and Cloverliefe are really the reasons I even began looking at Walkers. I've known them for quite a while and at one time led the guild they were in, Alfar's Vigilance. That guild has since faded away. I got a new job and couldn't maintain what it needed and it slowly faded out even though many people (including Gild and Clover bigtime) tried to keep it going. I still keep it tagged on some chars I have for some sentimental reasons, but otherwise I'm not attached to anything.

Little bit about my playstyle, I'm not really into the giant guild, raid everyday type of thing. A simple group is probably my FAVORITE part of EQ.

A raid here and there to accomplish specific goals is more my speed and that seems to be right where Walkers is right now. I enjoy doing those raids, but would never be part of something that demands them 5-7 days a week type stuff.

I love dungeons. Any tightly packed places that have hundreds of angry mobs with nowhere to run is where I like to be. If it's a "cave" of sorts, even better. The great outdoors has always just been.. well, blah...

On a personal note, my sense of humor is sometimes odd. I may say stuff that cracks me up, but might not sound right. Feel free to ignore that. Most do. I'm also rather sarcastic and I'm always afraid that I'll come across the wrong way with people I don't really know, which tends to make me a bit more quiet at first. That's just me. Hopefully I'm not too quiet at times. If I know you well, you may wish I was, never know on that one. (See.. that was Vanibus humor. I know... odd, but I'm laughing.)

One pretty important thing about me, I'm an ALT addict. I've tried attending classes and even thought about medication, but I can't kick the habit. I'm addicted to creating any new character combination I can think about playing.

I got on that new www.eqplayers.com thing and it said I have 31 characters on my account. I was even suprised by that number.

I don't say this to say that the rogue isn't my #1 priority, because he is, but it's an important fact about me. The rogue hasn't always been my Main guy. Most recently, my main guy was a Paladin. Prior to that, cleric. I also realize that the sheer fact that I can honestly say that I've had 3 different "Main Characters" isn't something to be proud about, but that's the honest facts.

A little timeline for information purposes.

Nov. 15, 2000, my first rogue was born on the Druzzil Ro server. I really enjoyed this character, but by the teens I found that I was having trouble playing alongside a RL friend of mine that got me into the game. He played a ranger and we couldn't do much. His ranger was higher than my rogue, so I stopped playing the rogue and made a cleric.

This cleric was really where I learned the game. I think I did level 31 on him about 8 or 9 times because of deaths in Sol A. It was all good, though, I just simply enjoyed the game and didn't really care. I made it into the 50's on him. Never did reach 60, which was the cap at the time.

Right before PoP came out I talked some friends into making a group to mess around with on a different server (Vazaelle). Basically just to mess around and be "new" again. After a couple weeks of this and talking about it with other people, we found ourselves with nearly 15 people.

At that point, I decided to just make a guild, Alfar's Vigilance was born and I led it as Symbius, my paladin. We needed a tank and I still wanted some cleric abilities from my Druzzil days, so the Paladin was natural.

I put everything I had into that and I think we did pretty good for remaining small and still keeping a tight group. Didn't make it far progression wise. Some epics, ToV and beginning PoP stuff, but not bad for the size of the guild.

As I said previously, my job changed and I couldn't log in at the "customary" times for guild activities anymore and sometimes not for a week or two. I finally had conceded I couldn't do it anymore and stepped down. Eventually the guild died out, but I'll never forget it.

By that stage I was burned out to the point that I didn't even want to log on. Life changes and all that, I just shut EQ out completely.

As with most things, that changed and I finally came back to the game. (As most do!)

I was staring at the character list the first time I finally logged back into the game and the Paladin just felt like an old lifetime ago. I really had no desire to tank or anything like that. I still love everything that the Paladin can do. I just didn't want to atually do it.

Then I drifted back to my very first ever EQ character, that Rogue sat there looking at me. It felt right to go back to the beginning and be the class I chose 5 years ago.

While Vanibus isn't the same rogue that was created so long ago, that character still resides on Druzzil Ro and over there just isn't home anymore. Vazaelle is.. well Maelin.. bleh... and ALL my old friends and new friends are here on Vazaelle.

Anyway, that's a good portion of my EQ experience and hopefully that covers quite a bit about me.

I hope to group with you all more and hopefully eventually join.

Vanibus
70 Rogue

P.S. ** I told you it was LONG!! **
