You'll have to forgive my lack of explanation about this at the current, as it's 3 AM and my brain is almost completely fried. I'm sure discussion will follow, so rest assured you'll understand what's going on soon enough.
If you haven't noticed by now (I posted about this in Announcements), the message board is currently storing your unread posts server-side. Before it started doing this, the 'posts since last visit' feature was just that - when you would log in, it would generate this search by finding every post that was made AFTER your previous login date. Upon clicking one of the thread links out of the search list, you'd essentially lose the search, and you would not be able to perform it again. You'd also lose anything you hadn't read after logging out.
Now, the message board stores which topics you haven't read and keeps it until you either read the topic or choose to mark it read anyway.
This poll is here to allow you to vote for which unread post method you prefer. Some people do not like the new method and would rather have it returned to the old way. Please vote accordingly. |

I really like the new way where it shows all unread topics rather than the old way. Sometimes I'd get partially through the list the old way, leave my computer or shut down my browser, then lose the last half of the list before I finished it.
The only thing I would add to the new list method is a link at the bottom of the list that lets you mark all as read. As it is now, I have to go from the searched list back to the main walkers forum list and mark all read there. Unless i'm missing something...

That's a fair gripe. I'll see if there's a good way to go about implementing this. |
