Question for fellow parents

I had a young whiner too Lilli. As long as your doctor assures you there is no physical problem, let him whine - don't come running when he starts. The sooner he realizes you won't jump immediately to that kind of behavior (yes, even at his young age) he will stop. It may take awhile and it will probably get worse before it gets better, but if he gets what he wants, which is more than likely just your attention, he's won and it won't change. Good luck hon! It isn't easy and just wait till he walks and talks and learns that least favorite word to parents - NO! hehe

I won't even go into teenagerdom - that's a whole nother can of big worms!!!!!!! hehe

kids. yeah, seems like i've got a couple o' them. what they're saying is the gospel hon. it's only a phase....well it's only a phase if you don't reinforce it. if you reward it (i.e. jumping through hoops to make it stop) then it will become a way of life. next thing you know you're sitting in a corner whining and making sculptures out of earwax or something lol. well maybe not but you'll be sure you've lost your mind somewhere amist it all! at such a young age it may be a good idea to pick a positive behavior the child has and "jump through hoops for it" so they can start to recognize...when i do this, this happens, when i do that, that happens. and hopefully pick the preferred behavior.
no, i'm not mother of the year, but hindsight is 20/20 Very Happy

i on the other hand use an engineering approach with my kids. they really think i've lost my mind. we schedule "meetings" to talk about open issues and solution plans for them and i do "walk throughs" of their rooms lol glad they're good kids for the most part and just play along lol Smile
