Jenny, I think you would take over the world.

Some more testing. I found that if I launch Taskmanager prior to any instances of EQ, I can watch realtime system resource usage without crashing. Before loading any programs into memory, I'm using about 84 Mb of RAM.

Running two barebone instancse of EQ, I find that I'm using about 506mb RAM.

Looks like EQ is using about 210Mb RAM per instance!

After loading Firefox to visit this website, my swapfile kicked in and I'm now using virtual memory.

CPU usage wavers, once the two instances are running in the background, it goes from 5 to 10% usage.

So it looks like RAM is the biggest issue with multiple instances of EQ.

More info to come on this thread but I think I might go buy myself some more RAM today!!

Just bought a stick of 512, bringing my new total to 1gig

On startup OS reports using 74 MB

Running one poor instance of EQ uses 305MB total (minimum settings)
CPU at 20% with application onscreen.
Appears to use a few % less when minimized. 16-18%

turning viewport to 1x1 or using fulscreen made no change.

adding second poor instance brings used RAM to 537MB
CPU hovers at 25%

When loading 1 poor (low settings) EQ and 1 rich (high settings), the poor instance quickly crashes. RAM shot up to 800 MB total usage.
-Dunno why, perhaps differences in configuration were making it unhappy.

After exiting both, total RAM in use was at 95. I'm guessting
20MB went to nowhere land.

CPU = 2800 Athlon
RAM = PC 2700 (333mhz DDR)

Now I'm wondering why I can't run two instances if they have differnt settings. That will be a challenge to debunk.
