Well this movie is about football and how we play the game here in Odessa, Tx. Yep thats right they went and made a movie about one of the teams here where I live and the movie was shot here in town if you want to get a look of west Texas here's your chance. Also if you like highshool football you'll see the story of one of the best teams in the nation. That's not my opion but US Today pick Permain as the #1 team in nation for the 80s.

Here is a link that will take you to the trailer.

Interesting. I like the bugs in the movie Starship Troopers, because they represent an alternative form of intelligence, like me.

Your name and intelligence should NEVER appear in the same sentence Jenny, unless the word intelligence is prefaced with lack of, non-existant, or devoid of.

Thanks, have a great day.

Texas high school football > all, it's like a religion, and more pure than 99% of all other religions. Goll doesn't mention why the teams in Odessa were so good, because that's all there is to do there. Razz

I definately plan to see this, and I am going to read the book this movie is based on too, something I should have done long ago.

Actualy from what I was told by my dad is that if there was a young man who lived in another town that was real good player, it was not unheard of for his fater to be offered a better job or premotion that would have him move to Odessa. When my son played it was mention more than once that because of where I lived my son could also play for Permain, but my son like beating up on people with black shirts.

Shhhhhhhhhh, I didn't want to mention the recruiting Goll, but it's true. At least it was back when oil was King in Texas, fathers were offered good jobs in the oil fields so their boy could play football. But I don't really think that's a bad thing, it worked out for everyone involved really.

Not sure i will go see this. But, i was curious . . what class is this team. My first impression is class 2a-3a. But then on some of the previews i see them at state championship(i guess) and the entire stadium looks packed and then i would assume they are class 5a-6a.
