Years of Caniel screaming about them are ALL ACCURATE, I've learned.
Unfortunately, they're the only local phone company available to me.
"Well, did you check all your phone jacks?"
"Yes, none of them have a dial tone."
"Well, we show the line there working. The previous tenant had two phone numbers, so it's probably just working on one of the other jacks."
"Er, there is no previous tenant, we're the very first people to live in this brand-new housing development."
"I'm sorry, but that's not what we show. We can have someone come out on Saturday to fix it, but since you didn't sign up for our WirePro service, it will be $89/hour to repair whatever happened to your wires."
"Like you guys coming out to install phone service in my home, and screwing it up?"
"Thank you for calling Verizon."
Hail, a small claims suit in a few months.

SBC may suck overall but, nm, they suck overall. All phone companies are bastards.

Just confirmed with my sister-in-law that these assclowns don't have a jumbo-sized foot to stand on.
So they can bill me, and I'll write a letter nicely peppered by her lawyerse, and if they don't drop the charges, we'll win in court.
On the other hand ... Charter Communications just left and DADDY HAS INTERNET ACCESS AGAIN!

congratz on the internet Whiz
Being in the phone service business for 20+ years here i have seen them all
SBC rep. please unplug all phones in your house and wait 20 minutes the line will be working fine after the rest
Tenri customers’ Tec. hold on 1 sec it will take me some time to disconnect 80 phones from the phone system ok
SBC rep. oh ok i will hold (all the time the customer is listening on the speaker phone LOL)
Tenri. Ok all phones are discounted
SBC. Ok going to restart the line now
Tenri. What line are you restarting?
SBC the main line
Tenri. But that’s not the line that’s not working
SBC then what line is not working?
Tenri the one I gave you the 1st time
SBC well I only show this line for the said customer
Tenri well maybe you should up date your data base did you really think that a customer with 80 phones would only have one phone line bitch
SBC there is no need for that
Tenri give me your manager now
SBC umm there are no managers on duty at this time
Tenri well then might I suggest that you send a tech out right now before I tell the customer that he need to get in touch with his lawyer
SBC I will escalate the service call we should have a tech there by Wednesday (4 days later)
Tenri holding the phone so SBC can hear the conversation telling the customer to call their lawyer right now
SBC I have a tech 1 block away he will be there in 10 minutes
any ways all the large service providers suck
