Hey Papy! My account expired shortly after I left Walkers and I can't really bring myself to buying another game card. I think Whiz was right when he told me my discontent with the guild was really just EQ burnout. :\ Might be done for good this time, I'll see in a week or two. Oh well. Hope you get into Kod`Taz and kick all kinds of ass!

For many guilds GoD has turned into a guild killer. While I haven't seen anyone freaking out on Vazaelle yet they certainly are on other servers. If you read other boards you will see long lists of complaints about most of the changes they are implementing in GoD. Many of the strongest guilds server wide are starting to fold.

I totally agree that Gates has been a guild killer, but it's certainly not these new changes that are doing it. The general suckitude of Ikkinz trials and trials in general, the fact that Uqua was an absolute buggy-ass death trap pos for MONTHS (your faction standing with Beta KoS cannot possibly get any worse, deaths repopping the zone, etc) and now that it's finally fixed you STILL can't progress past it, DX9 problems, WoW beta and CoH, etc. Everything I've read about the upcoming Gates retuning seems it's directed at the lower end of the expansion. I'm sorry, I really don't see anything at all wrong with their planned retuning aside from making paranoid Warriors bitch about how they'll be "useless" again, and the fact that "You'll be able to zone into Qvic now, no more artificial cockblocks!" isn't on there.

Rod Humble's article in the latest Game Developer shed a lot of light onto the SOE mentality for me. I guess I shouldnt have been naive enough to think otherwise, but EQ has become nothing more than a business for them, with most of the inspiration behind it long gone.
(and yeah, it was GoD that pretty much did it for me, too)

I certainly don't disagree with your assesment skeet. The whole knight/warrior thing is a whole nother can of worms.
