Well, our apartment building has been in a lot of movies; we have notices put up at least once every nine months that someone will be doing shooting on our street during X time, and that exteriors may be used, etc.

For the first time, though, I saw our building. I'd actually forgotten that Ridley Scott shot part of "Matchstick Men" outside our place, with North Hollywood substituting for Woodland Hills (and I've always liked Woodland Hills, so in a Hollywood way, I've gotten to live there now). If you watch the movie, when Nicholas Cage drops his daughter off at her mother's house, the corner he parks at is ours -- you can see the blue wooden apartment building facade in one shot, when he backs the car up to drive away. In the making of documentary, they also show them scouting the location.

I dig Ridley Scott, so this was a nice surprise.

I just got done watching it and I paused the DVD at that point...

When I used the "zoom" feature on the dvd player I could make out the profile of a little gnomish looking dude in a window, hunched over a computer...

Gratz on being in the film Whiz!!!

That's why our apartment courtyard is full of bear traps.

I got to be in the backdrop of a movie once too! They were shooting "We were soldiers" when I was at Ft Benning for airborne school. I rember when we were doing the swing-landing trainer, just sitting on the bench watching them drive that station wagon with the U-haul up and down the street all day (for the beginning), and two of our instructors got to play instructors in the movie too. One's in-movie name was "Jodie" (inside military joke..). It was cool, but it sucked, because we missed part of our training, couldn't do the 250' Tower because they were using them for the movie.
I've never even heard of the movie Wiz is talking about, but I'll check it out.

Countdown: 22 days

I was going to see this movie anyway, this just gives me something extra to watch for. Does seem kinda stalker-like though but I can live with that

That’s pretty cool, I got a chance to do some extras casting for a couple of movies and got to be in one. Did The Great Outdoors and The Heist, with Pierce Brosnan. At the beginning after he gets out of jail, Pierce Brosnan fly’s into San Diego Airport. The scene where Pierce Brosnan walks out of the baggage carrousel area at the San Diego Airport. I’m on the end phone. I turn and follow him out side. Sheesh, that was over 10 years ago. Man I look young.
