I am the proud owner of a computer with no AGP slot *sigh* was wondering if a PCI card would even be worth the expense considering the chit speed.

If you don't want to buy a new puter then the PCI will have to do. My nephews have one and the performance aint so bad.

Don't hold me to this, but I think with most current high end video cards, not much difference between the slots. If your video card has a decent chunk of memory on it, most of the textures should be loaded up at the start and then the card just has to accept the movements. So an AGP slot will speed that transfer up. I think the major point of AGP was when video cards had little memory on them and the computer memory was being used to store textures and you wanted a quick transfer of them when needed. I could be horribly wrong on this, but I don't think other than the initial transfers of textures that much of a difference would be seen between say a PCI UberCard 5000 and an AGP UberCard 5000.
