I just built Talhia a new comp. Total cost about $900, here's what we wound up with..
Mean Green Machine
P4E(Prescott) 2.8GHz OC'd to 3.02
Abit IC7-G Max II Mobo
ATI Radeon 9600XT OC'd to 575clock/315 memory
1024mb Kingston Dual-Channel PC 3200 DDR RAM
SB Audigy
WD 60Gb 7200RPM 8MB buffer HDD
Sweet green case w/ side window and 480w PSU
And she's got a Viewsonic 19" E-90 monitor too, but she's had that.
Went to Alienware's website there and did their speed test thing, it was outrunning systems selling for $2500 w/o monitor.
These new Prescott CPUs are awesome 1mb L2 cache makes a big diffrence, but they seem to run hot.
Oh, and the Video card came with a free Half-Life 2 coupon, woot!
Can't wait to get home and build mine... mmm, computer guts.

The reason you're outclocking Alienware systems that sell for 2500 is because theirs are not overclocked. I wouldn't be surprised if that Prescott processor dies in 6 months for the barely 200 MHz speed increase. _________________ Sage Shiloch Venzolmes - Arch Convoker - Walkers
