Ok, how many are actually attending the Fan Faire and how many are just going to Vegas to hang. I can't decide if I want to actually pay for the Fan Faire or just go to party, so gonna go with the majority. Vote please. _________________ Xecutioner Smith(retired) Dread Lord of Walkers

My wife and I were talking and we have not traveled with CJ since he was a little baby. Now that he is bigger we are not even sure how to get him and carseat on an airplane. His carseat is HUGE and I don't know if it will even fit in an airplane seat.
So we might end up leaving him at home, or I go by myself.
I will be attending the Fan Faire section. Had fun last time. Hoping I can talk some of my RL friends into going also. Mary is already lookin into hotel room for me. |

The website should be up by Monday, BC. You can track the progress on the fan faire website forums. Kanwer pointed me there and I have been following it since. Looks like the paperwork is donr and they are saying the Hotel Code will be listed hopefully by Monday.

GameWorks isnt a bad choice.. the bar area inside is quite nice.
I haven't been to The Beach in years.. blech. Cheesy touristy place, there's a lot better.
Double Down is always a great bar, just short drive down Paradise, but it's offstrip and a little small. Might be a scary scene for some tho. :] But if you like your drinks and you like punk and music out of the mainstream, be sure and stop by the happiest place on earth while yer in town.
Hmm, sounds like GameWorks might be the best place.. also, the monorail will be open by then, so no one will have to drive. _________________ --

Booked my flight today along with my room (April 1-5) at the Vegas Hilton. Woot! Getting excited now. I am sure I will participate in the fan faire as well. I have heard that the live faire is pretty cool plus they give away some cool stuff. I want to be there if they say anything baout EQ2 as well. Heh.

From EQLive:
Quote: | Okay kids, we're in the home stretch.
The contract is signed and the website is in QA being tested. This means that we should be fully live on Tuesday barring some kind of delay. You'll be able to book rooms, pre-register for your badge, etcetera. The whole shebang.
I'm leaving for Vegas in an hour and a half to do an uh...final..uh...walkthrough of the hotel just to make sure its good. Yeah, that's it. I'll be in Vegas enjoying myself this weekend.
I'll be back in on Monday morning so we can get this fan faire started! Let the 5th anniversary begin!

Let's get this ball rolling. I vote for a Walkers and Friends gathering at Gameworks on Friday evening(8PMish -? work for everyone?). I know there's some EQ stuff happening then as well, but we can handle both NP.
Any thoughts/comments/suggestions? _________________ "I might be a little bit loco, but it keeps me from losing my mind."

Is there any cheaper bars around that area, with not too loud of music? I know... I know... Hard to find a bar that doesn't play too loud music on weekends... _________________

I really really disliked Gameworks last time we went. Down with anywhere but would prefer a different place then Gameworks. _________________

I've never seen the bar at Gameworks loud, unless there was a band or a DJ or something...it's usually a pretty low key place.
There's also the Peppermill, but we might be too many to fit on a friday night...
Thats the tough part, 20+ people, constrained to the Strip, on a friday night, trying to find a place where we could all actually hang out in the same area without crazy loud music going.
I'd offer my house, but its a bit out of the way from the Strip, and that'd be a pain for a load of carless people to get to and from.
Gameworks might be one of the only spots that fits the above items. Reasonable drink prices, music(generally) isnt too loud, and the bar design isnt bad at all. Plus, at least the few times I've gone, its usually not that crowded, esp early in the evening.
If people are willing to cab it, there are more options(personally, I'd love to take over Double Down for the evening, but again, thats a cab ride). _________________ --
