We lost a great, great spokesman for children yesterday, Bob Keeshan AKA Captain Kangaroo passed away. I grew up with the Captain, Mr Greenjeans, Bunny Rabbit, Dancing Bear and Grandfather Clock and that show was beautiful. I like to think that the Captain is one of the many reasons I grew up happy. Thank you Captain, I will miss you dearly. _________________ Xecutioner Smith(retired) Dread Lord of Walkers

I am a little older than most of you and I don't really remember Captain Kangaroo but I do remember Howdy Doody and Clarabel the Clown with very fond memories. He also provided member of my generation much amusement and enjoyment. |

Thank you Bon for that nice post. I, too grew up with Captain Kangaroo. I loved that show. My favorite char was Dancing Bear. I can remember dancing with my stuff teddy bear in front of the tv when he came on. The Captain was a wonderful person and he will be missed by everyone. |

Damn, Captain Kangaroo was cool, although Mr. Green Jeans was sort of creepy. _________________

They broke the mold with the Capt. His coarse hair, bushy sideburns, and surprised look when the ping pong balls fell on him. Those things would bounce everywhere! _________________ Larue |
