We lost a great, great spokesman for children yesterday, Bob Keeshan AKA Captain Kangaroo passed away. I grew up with the Captain, Mr Greenjeans, Bunny Rabbit, Dancing Bear and Grandfather Clock and that show was beautiful. I like to think that the Captain is one of the many reasons I grew up happy. Thank you Captain, I will miss you dearly.

I am a little older than most of you and I don't really remember Captain Kangaroo but I do remember Howdy Doody and Clarabel the Clown with very fond memories. He also provided member of my generation much amusement and enjoyment.

Damn, Captain Kangaroo was cool, although Mr. Green Jeans was sort of creepy.

They broke the mold with the Capt. His coarse hair, bushy sideburns, and surprised look when the ping pong balls fell on him. Those things would bounce everywhere!

/Salute Captain K. and bon voyage.

In a world filled with hate there are few left like him who do their best to hold it at bay.
