i want to buy more ram today but im not sure what i need. i have a dell dimension something or other. i know i have 256 in there now and there is one slot open for expansion. so i know i need another 256. my questiion is what kind of ram do you think it is? sdram? or some other kind. i got the comp about 2 years ago if that helps. |

If you have the PC Idenfification number, I'd punch that in on DELL's website and see what they offer you. Starting about 1 year ago, high-end Dell Computers started shipping with proprietary RAM, and you won't be able to buy it off the shelf. Check the website to see what kind they tell you to buy from them. After you're sure its not their proprietary version, then you can shop around for a deal.
