HEPL!!!!

Last night after playing all evening I went to switch toons. I seemed to lock up on the loading page and then boom went to desktop. I now can't load any toons. One time I got a message something about a client. The rest of the time I got no messages just boom right to desktop. It is on the loading page of the character going into world that I crash and burn. Any ideas?

Same thing was happening to me yesterday morning. Within 30 minutes the server went down. Try going onto the chat room and see if anyone else is having this problem.

No luck Bash. I sat in chat room spamming my problem / question along with about 5 other peeps with same problem. I never got a reply and one of the other peeps got told to call tech support on Monday. That's it.

Isn't there an eqclient.ini file that you can rename to something else (in case it doesn't solve the problem) and let the game recreate it that will fix this problem? Give it a shot and see. Remember, rename it so that you can put it back if it doesn't fix the problem.

Yes Muii there is. I did try that and was able to get Brieah on but still couldn't load alts. Ran out of time to play with it on sunday. I will try tonight with deleting the .ini files too.

you might want to rename all character files (i.e. Brieah_vazaelle or what ever they are called now) and see if that helps. It's odd that they'd all get corrupted, but you never know. You could try to rename all ini files and see if EQ creates them again. Nice thing about EQ is that most of the info is stored SOE side, so there are minimal files you need to keep and if you have a fast connection, you can repatch full in a jiff.

I had been having intermittant problems since the Thurs. patch of making it successfully to the game.

I patched my video to the latest driver and booyah I'm in consistantly again.

They apparently went over to the latest Nvidia drivers with the last patch, don't know if you have such a vid card or if yours may even need an upgrade , but thought I would let you know how I got around similiar problems over the weekend.

I have a new nvidia card. I get funky lines on the server select and the character screens. I did have that at boot up but I had to turn off the hardware compression for bitmaps and one other switch.

I now only get the squiggly lines on the server select and character select. Otherwise I can get in. This was with the latest and 2 older nvid drivers.

bleh the driver's update didn't fix it. I still can't load alts. I am gonna try the UI/ Ini thing now. (I make back ups)
