It certainly is a good time to be a Karana half-elf or human ranger. I like the idea that they can go from 1-55+ just hanging out in their home territory. wtb that option for all races/classes.

Surefall Glade is the home to both Human and Half-Elf Rangers of Tunare and Karana. Obviously the Karana Rangers are a bit jealous of Tunare but we don't rub it in much. _________________

Thumbs down on the "new zone." It's kind of pretty, but it's basically a forest (with those ultra-laggy trees from JP) with various level 25-30ish creatures wandering around: snakes, grizzlies, basilisks, griffons, panthers... um, I think that's it. There's a big wall with a large drop that seems to have no point other than possibly killing anyone who's not paying attention (err, my bad, it's an excuse to throw in a waterfall that's not on the zone wall...) I found one cave, which consisted of two rooms with grizzlies. Yay Beyond that, there's one camp that looks like an adventurer's camp, with all of two NPCs that say little to nothing (other than they may need help building a ship later).
As for actual exping (I'm on my level 32 bard), the mobs hit slightly harder than, say, IC cougars (I think mid 60s was the highest I got hit for), somewhat faster, are LoY-style MR, have terrible pathing (why? it's an outdoor, open zone. wth?), and drop almost nothing for loot... I've gotten a couple of no drop basilisk hides and an MQ bear pelt, most drop nothing. To boot, my exp bar doesn't seem to have moved at all, despite having killed 3 or 4 dark blues and some lbs and greens (or maybe my con system is just messed up post-patch =\).
Overall, thumbs down. |

The new zone is allegedly where the ship that sails to next year's expansion will go from. |

I personally love the more natural/traditional zones like the Karanas. Qeynos Hills, and Jagged Pine Forest. Easily my favorite zones in the game. (You could include EC/WC but I never went there much)
Yeah Rumor/Speculation I heard is this will be the launch point for the next expansion. I am hoping they make the zone kind of dynamic and build the shipyard/ship in stages as we approach the expansion. _________________

Apparently if you talk to Morden in the new zone, he says that's exactly what's gonna happen. |
