Focus Effect: Enhancement Haste IV
1: Increase Spell Haste by 30%
2: Limit: Max Level(65)
3: Limit: Min Duration(72.00 sec)
4: Limit: Min Casting Time(3.00 sec)
5: Limit: Spell Type(Beneficial only)

would the spell haste increase by 30% also increase my heal cast time, or does this just apply to buffs?

Thanks,

Steamy

I don't *think* it affects heals. The easy way to find out is just right click the spell and it will tell you.

I honestly don't remember though and I'm just happy that I got to add a post count. Laughing

It says enhancement, so I BELIEVE that it is for buffs only. Perhaps it works with Heal over time spells as well. I am not 100% sure. I do however have a EH IV item (least I think it's EH) and will gladly toss it on and observe if it works with my heals or just buffs.

3: Limit: Min Duration(72.00 sec)

This means that this particular focus will only work on spells that have a minimum duration of 72 seconds... which is mostly just buffs (heals have an instant duration). Spell Haste IV will work on all spells that have a cast time greater than 3 seconds, but will only decrease your cast time by 15 percent (well, and you have to find an item with SH4).

well I'm glad I asked, because I only wanted the item if it was going to help me cast heals faster. We all know I'm never going to buff anyone, unless Pam Anderson starts playing EQ!

i dont know why or how but i have on my spells,,,,
cast time X
your cast time X

none of my spells take anywhere near 70 seconds to cast

when i cast the spell time bar starts at like halfway or so.

Ely, hybrids get an innate haste on offensive spells from level 50, so any nukes, or snares, or whatnot end up being around half the cast time. Beneficial spells, like heals and buffs, aren't affected by this (/rude SoE). Also, with regards to the 70 second thing, the focus affects spells that have a duration of 72 seconds or longer (for example, virtue has a base duration of 2.5 hours). Spell casting and the duration of a spell are entirely separate entities.
