EVERQUEST 2: DELAYED

We spoke with SOE about the recent announcement of EQ2 being delayed until 2004. We were informed they still hope for the game to be in the first half of 2004.

Internal private beta testing should begin within a month with a focus based public beta set for late this year or early next year.

....this sounds familiar....

WoW beta is still on track for sometime this fall as far as I know. It's going to run longer and with more people in it than EQ2's sounds like it will. If history is any guide, Blizzard will release the street version of WoW about a week after beta ends, which says sometime between April and June of next year.

If EQ2 launches before that, I expect it to be half-finished and buggy like SWG, frankly.

SO EQ2 will be buggy you think? Stuff like non-functional quests? broken storylines? Item loss? Lag? Sort of sounds like...

Personally, with the way SOE handles themselves (take the recent episode with so many people being screwed when they preordered LDON) and the fact that just from what little, limited bits I have looked at EQ2 it looks like just a prettier version of EQ...I am really looking forward to WoW.

Also, if any of you like norse mythology there is a MMPORG on the horizon called Mythica that you may want to take a look at. I will be watching this one also. Sounds like it will be very unique.

From what i have read WOW beta is scheduled to begin anytime now till end of year.EQ 2 however is anybody's guess....still looks fairly unfinished to me and I doubt they will make march for a release date. I still think WOW will beat EQ 2 to market...just seems they are better organized and more on the ball.I will play both and am planning on applying for WOW beta as soon as it's announced. Really interested in giving it a go.
