During the day my PC is just fine when playing Eq. But around 7 pm est the poltergeese move in , my packet loss or what ever its called reads from left to right 0 .........400 . This makes for very unhappy druid, i can send a tell , count to 5 then it shows on my screen. I have dial up for now, Earthlink. Hubby ia away for week and a PC whizz i am not( . Anyone have aclue?

Unfortunatley I have more than an idea. There are a couple of likely possibilities.
One: The internet provider is fractioning/sharing your bandwith to accomodate more users without having to increase the number of connections they provide.
Two: At 7pm your time, your ISP is perfoming its system maintenance.
Either case would cause your connection to lag.
My ISP (earthlink) did the fractioning trick in my neighborhood until several of us dropped their service.

Dialup is the devils child. hehe
kind of sad to hear this Earthlink used to be the best of the dialup services.
