I'm running XP pro, I downloaded the directx for xp from microsoft site. No problems. Im not big on hardware, if yer vid card is nvidia compliant, you might wanna download the drivers from their site. It sounds like directx is the problem tho, try downloading the latest from microsoft. Magelo Profile |

Hi! I know I'm not a Walker, but I'm having computer problems and Kerina said you might be able to help me out. She said you're like crazy computer gurus, or something along that line...
Anyway, When I run EQ, after the patcher is done, I get a "No 3D Device Found" error. After looking at the error on Sony's site, I found that it is a DirectX (Direct3D to be exact) problem. When I check out DirectX Diagnostics, it says that DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Texture Acceleration are not enabled, and doesn't give me the option to enable them.
Now for my computers specs: AMD 1700+ processor; 512MB PC133 RAM; 64MB GeForce2 video; Network Card w/DSL Modem for internet; Windows .NET Server RC1 (When I upgraded to this from 2K Server is when I started having this problem).
As stated above, the problem started happening when I upgraded to .NET Server. I'm using the Latest Detonator drivers for my video card, and have removed and reinstalled them twice now. Short of not using .NET Server, can you think of any fix for this (I'm a computer tech, I need to keep up on the newest "stuff" out there )? Is there anyway I can get a Version of DirectX that will install on a Windows XP system (.NET Server is the same as XP, just made into a server OS)?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you for your time and effort, [52 Mystic] Telora Stormrider (Barbarian) [23 Monk] Rissi Chagau (Iksar)

Did you upgrade to the .Net Server 2003 beta or the Win2K .Net Server overlay?
If you're using the beta, I can't help you. If you are using the overlay for Win2K .Net Server:
Download Direct-X 8.1 for Win2K here: www.microsoft.com/windows...efault.asp
Then patch with SP3 - download here: www.microsoft.com/windows...efault.asp |

Upgraded to the beta. I guess there are a few things I can try, namely... reformat (ugh). ">
Thanks,
