Please help me
I moved from my home back in with my parents, for at least six months. I am now back to dial up from my cable modem and i cant seem to stop going LD. I changed my clip plane to all the way down, turned off 3d sky, turned off luclin, and changed my data rate to 3. I still cant stay on for more than 5 minutes max. Please help! I of course wont be playing Lilli untill i can connect reliably.

What is this data rate you speak of?
And did you turn on server side filtering? This is the option that controls how much data is spammed to your modem. |

Data rate is in your EQ directory and controls how much info is coming in and out throught the connection. It was at 7 with my cable modem.
Server side filter? I dont know what the heck that is.

Sorry it took so long for me to find the answer.
EQCLIENT.INI
ServerFilter = [0-1]
0=No, 1=Yes. If this line is set to 1, than Server side filtering is occurring. Default is 0. If you are having problems with lag in a raid situation, or when many other players are in the same general area in EverQuest, it is best to have this set to 1.
OR
/serverfilter [ON/OFF] - Allows player to turn off or on packet messages from other players, allowing for less lag in raid situations.
NOW GET IN THE GAME! I'm trying to unload this junk for the Stein for your alt! LOL Edited by: Jullious at: 7/13/02 6:26:11 am

Have you looked at your Properties to see if your Idle time before hanging up isn't at 5 mins? Usually when you create a Dial up connection it is set at 5 mins. |

I would also check the speed your modem is set for. Although it is probably connecting at 56k or close to your modem might actually be set at 9600 I have seen this work to increase performance. If you need help finding your modem properties ask and I will tell ya!
