I was in college and driving home the day before Christmas to be with my family. I took the back roads meaning I avoided the freeways and used the route where truckers/travelers use. The problem is that it's one lane both ways so if you're stuck behind a slow driver, it can literally be miles before you can pass them and even so people drive so fast that it's kinda risky to try to pass in such a short amount of time.
Anyways I didn't witness it happening, but it had obviously JUST happened because I drove up to an accident scene with three cars sprawled about in the middle of the road and people pulling over to help. I saw so much damage. There were children standing around, not sure what to make of this while adults were huddling them. I looked at a white car that had the front all smashed up and I saw a child sitting in the back seat with a man standing outside with his hand in his pockets, obviously unable to do anything. Then it occurred to me what I was looking at. The mom was in the driver seat with her head slumped through the broken driver's side window with blood matted through her hair. I knew she didn't make it.
It was just a sickening feeling especially since these people were going home for the holidays and some ass probably decided to try to pass lanes instead of going ten miles slower.

This might be a little gory but I was curious if anyone witnessed death first hand.
I remember one time Tryunn and I were walking down "State Street" and we saw a tow truck that slammed into the back/side of the rear trailer on a big rig (18 wheeler) the passenger was mangled up underneath the trailer. . .all we saw sticking out was his hand. I knew one of the cops on the scene and he said that the guy was kaput. .
I saw something worse happen when I was 8 that scared me for life. . .but I can't talk about that cause it is WAY WAY too insane for anyone to hear about let alone an 8 year old to see.
ANyone else??
Please don't hate me for starting a nasty topic!!

I wouldnt say this is the worst, sort of good maybe.
I was just chillin at a stop light, looking in my mirrors at the intersection i had just passed. Then all of a sudden i see a Subaru Sportswagon flying upside down in my mirror.
Anyways we were quite a few cars up, but my momma is an officer so naturally we pulled over to check it out. I watched them pull the peoples out of the car, some ladies were in there and they were ok cept for a cut up wrist and junk. Then they pulled the baby out, and all i could think was kudos to those ladies...for wearing their seatbelts, for using a child seat for the baby that made it perfectly fine, for putting the seat belt on the child seat, and for putting blankets for good padding on the baby. Its always nice to see people that follow the safety rules and make it out ok. Buckle Up, if not for you, then for me =) _________________ - Epic stick figure - |

Seatbelts do save lives but sometimes they don't. I was in an acident that was pretty damn bad and if I had my seatbelt on I might have been trapped inside the car. . .aren't you glad I wasn't wearing it!?

Well.. i had to remove a dead cat from a dryer that was pretty bad but i didnt SEE it die.. saw it before it died.. after death.. but not during.. or it wouldnt have died.
Worst thing i ever saw though.. was my mom get the pin removed from her foot.. its not a pin really, more like an allen wrench. To remove it they got the tool box, i kid you not.. a regular old tool box, with regular old plyers and removed the allen wrench from her foot. The sight was grusome.. but it was the sound that will haunt me. _________________ If you want to know more about women, watch Sex and the City.

My brother put a nail through his hand with a Framing Nailer. . .all he said was, Cor, can you pull this nail out. It was pretty funny actually. I also shot my father with the same nailing gun, it hit him about 4 inches from his well uh, you know!

I was driving on the beltway around DC. There was a pick-up truck a few cars ahead of me, and in the back of the truck was what looked like a golden retriever. Either the dog wasn't bright, something spooked it, or it slipped, and it came out of the back of the truck. Immediately it was struck by a car, bounced, struck by another car, bounced again, struck by another car, then (what can only be described as) exploded.
I cried the rest of the way home, opened my front door to be greeted by my doggie, hugged him, and cried the rest of the night.

The Bus I was pulling in was driving down the streets of Prague toward our hotel, we were looking out the window to see a guy forget to look both ways and step right into an oncoming street car. Needless to say, he died. 54 Half-Elven Tunarean Pathfinder | Epic Shadows | Vazaelle _________________

I was IN a wedding once.
Aside from the scene Spazz described, I've seen so many dead animals it's unbelievable. My wife and I have been involved in animal rescue for a few years now, so any time either of us sees an animal in need, we have to stop and help.
Ask Spazz about my dog that I had for a little while that became known as "Yeller." As in old Yeller. I found him on the streets of New Haven one day as I was waiting for the bus to go home from work. I was standing downtown, and it was raining. I notice this sort of pit bull looking orange dog wandering around next to a gas station. I thought he belonged to one of the guys that was standing by there, and they just didn't have a leash on him. Then he started walking away from them and they didn't try to stop him and I realized he was a stray. I had some food in my backpack(I workd at a grocery store, and I used to uh, "liberate" small food items pretty regularly) and so I tok out some cheese and tried to see if I could get him to come to me. Well, he came right up to me, and started eating what I gave him. Then I got a good upclose look at how cruel people could be. The wounds on him could not have come from another dog or any wild animal. It was pure human (or inhuman) malice that made this dog suffer. For one thing, he was limping, and loking at his feet aI could tell why. Half of his toes had been broken at some point. His hips were sore and stiff from arthritis. His ribs poked out his sides because he was so thin and malnourished, and it was obvious that one or two of those had been broken and healed wrong. Then, his face. I will never forget this dog's face. He was ugly as sin, but he probably had been beautiful at some point. Except someone had hit him across the face with a pipe or bat or something else heavy. The bridge of his nose was partially collapsed on the right side, and his right eye was pretty much gone. He followed me around till I could find someone to give us both a ride home. I couldn't leave him there on the street. When I got him home, he slept for about three days straight, obviously exhausted. Now, my housemates, of which there were about 10, took one look at him and didn't want to deal. I held out though, I needed to give him a chance. I kept him for about 8 months. Finally I had to put him down because he was just getting so sick on the inside. But, at least I gave him a little bit of peace at the end of his life. By far though, seeing him for the first time, was one of the hardest things I've ever looked at. Tryunn Tue`ImajynnWalkers of Vazaelle _________________ Tryunn Tue`Imajynn |

I was a medic in the army till they CFR'd me. I got lots of stories of blood and gore, but I got one story that still makes me grin.
In the women's showers a female soldier slipped and hit her neck on the divider between the change area and the shower. So the other women drapped a towel over her. I get the call with a sergeant, and we walk into the women's shower area. Six women are standing around in towels over the one lying on the floor who thinks her neck might be broken (it was just bruised).
So, according to standard procedure we have to put her in a back board, and of course we asked for assistance from the towel clad bystanders, (how do women wrap those towels so tight that they don't come off no matter how much bending and twisting goes on?).
Anyway, I'll spare the gory details on how we had to lift and roll her and we were even courteous enough to ask one of the women to hold her towel on so it wouldn't slide off (It practically did anyway )
But I have to tell you one gory story though. One call was for a beautiful blonde female soldier who had a migraine headache. I was the crew chief, and this was a fairly easy call. She was in a lot of pain and was only wearing a short white robe. We had a new trainee guy with us, so I ordered him to monitor her in the back while I sat up front with the driver. He was really excited, kind of a nerdy guy (well I guess I am too ), so he was eager to help her out. So we are driving to the hospital, and the trainee guy is trying to get some info from her to fill out the forms. I remember watching in the mirror, he asked her something, and she turned her pretty blonde head, opened her mouth, and shot out one of the worst streams of projectile vomit I have ever seen !! Man, the new guy was covered ! She covered the back of the ambulance, all over the forms and equipment heheheh.
Anyway, I'm glad I was the crew chief, cause I sure didn't want to clean that ambulance after that call.
