Can the artistically talented here recommend a good sig creator? I have Macro Dream 3 but I'm thinking there might be something simpler since to whip one up.

I use Photoshop and GIF Animator. Photoshop isn't the easiest program ever, but it's pretty good in that regard. (i.e. it's not as hard as Illustrator to learn.)

I think that you can work with any program really. You're just limited by your creativity, not your programs (unless there's a feature you want to use and the program doesn't have it!).
Katarin figured out how to use the smoke animation on my sig on her own just by looking through the tutorials.

I use Photoshop and Illustrator. Barely touched it until a friend showed me what you could do with it. I watched him make 1 or 2 things and then started experimenting on my own.
As far as actually purchasing Photoshop, I wouldn't do it. Either 1: Find someone to burn you a copy of it, or 2: search a couple warez sites to find and download a cracked copy of it. The program cost around, oh $300 - $500, I believe, and I think it costs extra for all the plugins and filters.
You can also get Photoshop for dummies manual if you want to learn how to neat little things, and there are all sorts of online manuals for different techniques. Personally, I'm not a big fan of GIF animator programs because you're somewhat limited with what you can do with them.
Having said all that, I am hereby offering up whatever little bit of talent and artistic ability I may have to make custom sigs for anyone who wants one. I thoroughly enjoy doing this, and it would make me feel good to be able to do this for others. The only caveat to this offer is that anyone who wants to take advantage of it would have to find their own web space to host it. I've got one place to host mine now, but I don't know how much bandwidth I have to play with... _________________ Tryunn Tue`Imajynn
