Cheap photoshop tricks mostly. <img src=">

For the lightning, I found an animated lightning gif and broke it down frame by frame and copied the doll on top of each frame.

For the smoke I was trying to find an animated smoke ring gif or something of the like...no luck. So I found a tutorial on making a smoke layer (the one I went to doesn't seem to be up atm but there are several others scattered across the web, like this one). Then I used this ripple text tutorial, only applying it to the smoke instead of text. Except I added in another frame for the animation 'cause the smoke was looking too jerky, so instead of doing the 1,2,3 frames that they discuss over and over again, I made mine 1,2,3,2, repeat. If that makes any sense!

<--- Good enough for now.

The leaves were too tricky since I couldn't make the falling animations look natural so I'll worry about that when I get my epic.

Love the outfit though! :p

You're too talented. I can't figure out how you got the animations to move around that smoothly. <img src=">

Thanks Leopa! Getting the animation smooth is really not that hard, actually. I use photoshop 6 and adobe imageready 3. Basically, more frames = smoother animation. For instance, this particular one was 16 frames all together, The trade-off is trying to get something smooth (more frames) without making the image so big it takes forever to load. Smile Also the less actual layers you use, the less loading time as well. What I would really like, is to get a bunch of screenshots of ALL the Walkers, so I could work on some kind of portrait to put up, possibly on the guild website. Now THAT would be a fun challenge!
