Note that the negative stats on the Ethereal staff don't bother me at all. I have Earthen Boots which are magician melee protection, and planar pants (or kilt I should say) to boot. I started wearing these after I got my Thurgadin robe instead of the +2int pants. Even though I'm wielding -5 STA, Stamina still remains my second highest stat, at 135.
