Pedi

HEPL!

I want to do the save the individual pieces thing. Only photo editor I have is Adobe Photoshop 7 and I'm a total newb at it. I can save the pieces no prob but I don't know how to get them to 'paste' so to speak on the base. (i.e. merge the layers from separate files) Know any good tutorials out there? I checked Norrath Studios and EQPA and couldn't find quite what I'm having trouble with.

I'm also Having a bit of trouble getting the whole background transparent.

I LOVE the sight though!!

Sorry for not checking this thread sooner! <img src=">

I have photoshop 7.0 as well. Here is what you do.

Open up all the pieces in PS 7.

1. Find your base and change it to RGB. (Index forces all the layers to be flat. RGB allows you to work with transparent layers.)

2. Now you want to put in more space so you have room to include the hair and any weapons you may have. Go to Image > Canvas Size. Make it 300 by 200 to start with. Don't worry if it's too big. You can crop it down later.

3. Now go to an armor piece. Press control+a to select the entire image. Press control+c to copy the entire image. Go to the base and press control+v to paste the armor on top of the base. It will show up as a new layer. See image below. (To make it easier, you can right click on the layer, select "properties" and rename it.) Do the same thing for all the clothes and hair and weapons. Use the "move" tool (the arrow) to fit the clothes together.

4. What happens if the clothes stack differently? Like the pants being on top of the tunic in this picture? Left click on the layer and HOLD the left click down. Drag the pants until it's under the tunic layer.

Now you get the idea of how to put your doll together. Be sure to save your work every now and then.

Here are some extra tips.

5. Use the "save for web as" when you are done with your image. Make sure the "matte" is set to NONE (this will ensure that your background is transparent). Save as a GIF not as a jpeg (you already knew that).

6. If you decide you want to put a bunch of dolls together, you can go to Layer > Merge Visible. That will make the barbarian completely flat (never "flatten image" as it will force you to have a background). And you can copy and paste your finished doll into another file with your other completed dolls and play around with them. Example of playing around with dolls are below:

I had made each character seperately and then flattened them. Then I copied all of the over into a new file with layers and arranged them until I got them the way I wanted them to look.

Any questions, let me know. I will have Whiz bug me if there's a reply and I am not checking soon enough.

Np. I assume you have seen the "how to dye your armor" tutorial on the EQPA forums. If you have any problems, let me know.

I am experimenting with animation which do you think is better they go in order of spead from top to bottom in seconds per frame: 2, 5, 10, 15 or you can vote slower or faster.
