From my atrocious command (or lack thereof) of Latin...

tenet: from tenere, to hold, keep, maintain
opera: labor, work, operation
rotas: wheel

Putting them together, and minding the ending on tenere (which would imply the masculine, "he") this is roughly translatable as "he keeps(maintains? holds?) the work(ing) wheel." or perhaps because things are reversed," he keeps the wheel working." (or the wheel keeps working him. lol)

I really don't have the context, or a fine enough grasp on the subtleties of Latin to get much beyond that. There does seem to be a lot of palindromes/anagrams throughout the elf's poem when she wigs out and shouts, which is kind of interesting.

Interesting. I don't have time to decipher this whole thing, but ...

Quote:
Tiliki sings, In spiritwood find Kromzek's Bane, the home he lost he must regain.
Tiliki sings, In lands of old no longer lost, now jungle lands that once were frost.
That's the Wakening Lands, where the Plane of Growth turns part of frozen Velious green and lush. The storm giants, the Kromzek, are the foes of the Tunarean Court there.

High Hold Keep is new.

The elves, though, DO have a fallen keep or two around. Befallen is one, and there are some buried in the Desert of Ro. But the forests reference makes me think they're referring to the Nek forest to where the elves once live -- an area that's been turned into the Lavastorm Mountains by Solusek Ro.

Najena might be that keep.

When Virtue is at last restored, with Staff returned from Dragon's horde.

Then may the final quest begin, to reunite the Elven Kin.

In Aerignon find Edril's Sword, Caerthiel the crypt is in.
The Crown was lost in Wars of Hate, it must be found to seal their fate.
Sword Staff and Crown when all are found, will break the bonds by which they're bound.
Raise up again the Elddar State, and wash the stain from sacred ground.

It appears this is a quest for 3 objects to reunite the elves. If this is the case, it is truely an epic quest.

Through forests green and rivers deep, and past an ancient, fallen keep.
Into a pass where mountains part, to find a crypt where heros sleep.
Upon a stone there lies a clue, to secrets known by just a few.

This may refer to Highold pass, a zone I don't know too well, the only problem is the keep is not fallen. Anyone know if there is a crypt there?

Hauen, you were pretty much right! "Arepo the Sower holds the wheels at work" is the translation from the SATOR-ROTAS word square.

The bard from Morell-Thule had some of the best ideas/translations about the quest.. (link here)

Very cool quest <img src=">

Quote:

Tiliki whispers, From sands of north to Land of Song, in Faydwer's Heart amidst the throng.
Tiliki whispers, Seek out a Bard from days gone by, find him there in castle high.
Tiliki whispers, Close by thy side he must belong, back to the north thy path must lie.

I remember from Whizbang's history lessons that the High Elves actually were forcefully removed from "the sands of north" (No Ro) to the heart of Faydwer (Felwith).

My suggestion is that this refers to the city of the high elves. Is there a new bard NPC there somewhere?

Sounds like WarsilkWoods - to Dalnirs Crypt.

Or it could be Emerald Jungle seeing as the City of Mist could be considered a fallen keep OR Karnors Castle could.

If it is Karnors or Dalnirs then the crypt could be Howling Stones (which lies in a huge canyon - parted mountains).

Last thought - maybe RunnyEye to Gorge of King Xorbb, but I know of no crypt there. <img src=">

Good luck!! <img src=">

Btw if any of you read the part where part of the poem read THE WISPS KNOW when you read part of the poem that its in one line says Shown by light of crystal sound. Perhaps it refers to GLS's? Its just a long shot
